About Me

In Aldous Huxley’s Island, the mynah sings from the trees, “Attention! Attention!” followed by a far-reaching, “Here and now, boys. Here and now.” When asked why the birds are taught to say such things, a young girl answers, “Well… That’s what you always forget isn’t it? I mean, you forget to pay attention to what’s happening. And that’s the same as not being here and now.”

This blog is created as my attempt to enjoy the now, to be present in the moment as life seems to just speed by. I attempt to call attention to the little beauties in life as tribute to the mynah’s call.

I spend my days playing in soil, in food and in various arts. I also travel. I am attempting to live life while skipping softly on the earth. In regards to food, I attempt to live local, in season and meatless. I welcome your comments and suggestions as I take steps and stumbles along the way.
